Glaciers alive COLLECTION
The Glaciers Alive Collection combines art with an important mission:
the protection of glaciers and the future of our water.
These artworks make visible how valuable and at the same time vulnerable our natural water reserves are.
Idea of the collection
Art for water, life and the future
The glaciers of this world are far more than majestic landscapes – they are vital reservoirs for our planet. They preserve freshwater, which is especially essential in the summer months when rain and snow are scarce.
But due to climate change, these natural water reservoirs are melting at an alarming rate. With every glacier lost, a part of our future drinking water supply disappears as well.
The Glaciers Alive Foundation The Glaciers Alive Foundation is committed to protect these vital resources. Through scientific research, innovative technologies, and concrete projects, the organization works to preserve glaciers and ensure the long-term availability of water.
As an ambassador for this initiative, Marcel Munz dedicates a series of his own works to this theme. The pieces explore the power of ice, its fragility, and at the same time its fundamental importance for life.
Formation process
As with all MUTREA works, the Glaciers Alive Collection also begins with music.
Music forms the emotional origin of the works and sets the rhythm in which structure, movement, and pigments emerge. During the creative process, surfaces develop that are reminiscent of ice landscapes, frozen structures, and the movements of glaciers.
Layers of gypsum and pigments form crystalline structures reminiscent of broken ice, frozen rivers, and the slow movement of glacial masses.
This is how art is created that makes the power and fragility of nature visible.
The artworks
The works in this collection reflect the aesthetics of ice, water, and movement.
Bright colors, crystalline structures, and flowing forms evoke glacial landscapes and natural ice formations. Every surface speaks of the power of nature and its delicate balance.
Each work is unique and bears the traces of its creation – just as unique as the landscapes that inspired it.
Collector's value
The Glaciers Alive Collection combines art with responsibility.
Part of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Glaciers Alive Foundation to support specific projects for the protection of glaciers and the safeguarding of natural water reservoirs.
Collectors thus not only acquire a work of art, but become part of a movement that connects art, nature and the future.
Together we transform art into action – for the preservation of our natural water sources and for a future in which the reservoirs of our lives remain alive.
