My name is Marcel Munz – musician, performance artist and founder of MUTREA.
Born in 1986 in Schaffhausen (CH), I grew up in a world full of sound and creativity. Music was my first form of expression – over 1000 concerts worldwide, drum studies in Paris, and the final of the V-Drum World Championship in Los Angeles shaped me.
But my creative journey didn't end there. Inspired by my grandmother, a passionate painter, I discovered the power of visual art. In 2020, this led to the creation of MUTREA – my personal answer to the question of how music can also be experienced visually.
Today I combine rhythm, energy and emotion in a format that goes far beyond the classical understanding of art.
MUTREA is the fusion of music and visual art.
It all begins with a specially composed piece of music – the sound becomes the timekeeper. As the music plays, I physically translate its rhythm into the material. Every beat, every structure follows the music – intuitively, raw, and directly. In this way, a work is created in a single moment that makes sound visible and gives form to emotion.
